First Aid in Schools
Bookings for 2018 Program
The St John ACT First Aid in Schools (FAiS) Program has been going since 2012 in the ACT.
This year we are on target to train 11,000 year K-6 Primary School students in basic first aid.
The program is free to the students and schools, with St John ACT covering all costs.
In 2018 we will again be training at least one primary school child for every paying adult customer in our commercial First Aid courses.
For years K to 6, teacher resources can be found at http://schools.stjohn.org.au.

First Aid Skills
St John Ambulance believes in empowering our children and youth to be capable in first aid situations.
First Aid in Schools Program is an initiative aimed at training ACT school children in basic first aid skills. Over 1 million primary school children have been trained in basic first aid across the Nation since 2013.
The program offers the following at interested primary schools in the ACT:
The program includes age appropriate content on how to be a good first aider, how to call for help, managing bleeding and managing burns. Years 3-6 also cover an introduction to the DRSABCD action plan and how to manage an unconscious breathing patient.
Usual school breaks are observed during all classes. There are 3 levels in the program, however composite classes that span more than one level are also supported. Each class is tailored to the students present including their existing level of first aid knowledge.
Please feel free to distribute the First Aid in Schools Flyer to your friends, family and local schools.
We also have programs for high school students and other youth groups such as scouts. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
St John ACT also has a special student price for Provide First Aid courses run at high schools and a Junior First Aid course designed around the Scout Award Badges. Please refer to Other Courses Suitable for School Students for more details.
